The Influencer Book 3
Star rating: ★★★★☆
Blurb
A grumpy lobster fisherman tosses a fashion influencer’s impeccably curated life overboard in the next romantic comedy from international bestselling author Amy Lea.
In a last-ditch effort to rescue her brand from the brink of irrelevance, Boston fashion influencer Melanie Karlsen finds herself in a rural fishing village on the east coast of Canada. The only thing scarier than nature itself? The burly and bearded bed-and-breakfast owner and fisherman, Evan Whaler—who single-handedly disproves the theory that Canadians are “nice.”
After a boating accident lands Evan unconscious in the hospital, Mel is mistaken for his fiancée by his welcoming yet quirky family, who are embroiled in a long-standing feud over the B&B. In a bold attempt to mend family fences, Mel agrees to fake their engagement for one week in exchange for Evan’s help with her social media content.
Amid long hikes and campfire chats, reeling in their budding feelings for each other proves more difficult by the day. But is Mel willing to sacrifice her picture-perfect life in the city for a chance at a true, unfiltered love in the wild?

My Thoughts:
Thanks to PRH audio for providing me with this audiobook! All opinions are my own.
I picked this audiobook because I really enjoy reading about influencers and fish out of water is such a fun trope!
I really enjoyed Melanie's character. I identified with her struggle to be "natural" while also living up to beauty standards. I would have even loved that to be a bigger theme of the book. I liked Evan too despite his grumpiness. I felt the sexual tension between the two more than I have in other books in this series which I really enjoyed!
I really enjoyed Melanie and Evan's story but I did have some doubts they would make it work in the long term. I also would have liked Melanie to stick to her identity a bit more. This series has been pretty hit or miss for me but I think if you loved the earlier books you'll love this one!
🌶️🌶️ - there was some sexual tension as well as one or two open door scenes.
🎧🎧🎧 - I listened to the audiobook version of this book and didn't love it. Kelsey Navarro Foster is a new to me narrator but some romance readers may recognize her from He's Not My Type by Meghan Quinn. The story is set in Canada and many of the characters had Canadian accents sometimes but not others. I think if you are all at picky about your audiobooks you should go with the book version.
