This is a romance with a lot of heart that will make you smile and laugh and swoon. I have really enjoyed Jenny Holiday's contemporary romance so I was really excited to give Earl's Trip a try. It didn't disappoint.
I loved how supportive Archie and his friends were of each other! I really love a romance book with strong male friendships and I really hope we get to see each of the friends get an HEA! I also liked getting to see Archie and Clem reconnect. It was fun to watch them and only them be oblivious to their feelings.
This is definitely a historical with a more modern feel. We see discussion of found family and some loosening of rules and gender norms that it is less common to see in historical romance. I personally really enjoy this style of historical romance but know it isn't for everyone. I do think if you are a contemporary romance reader considering a historical this is a great one to try!
I am really hoping we might get more books about this group of friends! I think Effie, Simon and maybe Olive deserve happily ever afters as well!
