My Thoughts:

I adored A Rivalry of Hearts and the sequel did not disappoint! I loved really getting to know Monty and Daphne and see them learn to trust each other. Daphne is an amazing heroine. I loved seeing her find someone who really appreciated her for her whole self and seeing Monty learn to open up. Their chemistry was great and I really enjoyed seeing them try to not fall for each other while actively falling for each other.

I also loved how the magic was woven into this story while keeping the romance as the central conflict. Anyone who loves fantasy elements but couldn't care less about a war or anything that requires a map this is for you! I really struggle to find books like this so I scream about every single one!

I listened to the audiobook narration of this story and loved it! Dani Cochrane and Rusty Mewha did the narration together. Dani is a new to me narrator but also did the audio for A Rivalry of Hearts. Romance readers may recognize Rusty from The Match by Sarah Adams.
