Motham City Monsters Book 2

Star rating: ★★★★☆

Can her sunshine melt his frozen heart this Christmas?

Gargoyle security guard Grayson Lightfoot never celebrates Christmas. It brings back too many bad memories. Besides he’s got a job to do—watching over Motham City 24/7 from his rooftop.

Maisie doesn’t celebrate Christmas either. Orphaned at an early age, she’s a sensible human with a mission—to earn enough money to open up a drop-in center for street kids in Motham. So naturally she jumps at a lucrative holiday contract to work as a housekeeper for Grayson.

Except Maisie hasn’t factored in what a total grinch Grayson is. And sure, he may be handsome, but when her cheery presence meets with stony silence and a granite stare, Maisie’s good nature is tested. But when Maisie suddenly gets sick and Grayson flies down from the roof to nurse her, she gets to see a very different side to the grumpy gargoyle.

As for Grayson… could Maisie be the Christmas gift he’s always secretly longed for?

Find out in this cozy Christmas monster novel, full of heart, heat, and humor: Book 2 in the Motham City Monsters series.

My Thoughts:

I picked the Gargoyle Grinch because am a big fan of paranormal small towns. I have read a bunch that are more vampires, werewolves, and witches but not many monster ones. When I saw this one was also holiday-themed I couldn't let it pass! I really liked Maisie and Grayson. I felt like he was an interesting combination of grumpy and cinnamon roll. I wouldn't have minded if it took him a bit longer to melt but this book is a quick read so it made sense. I liked that both of them were on their own and they found each other. The steamy scenes in this one were good and the gargoyle anatomy was interesting. The plot of this book was not extensive but it wasn't only spice either. It was more of a cute story about two people finding each other. I might have enjoyed a little more information on the world but I was jumping into the series at book two because I was excited this one had a holiday theme. Overall I recommend this one for readers wanting a cute holiday read with some monster smut thrown in. I did like this one enough I will likely go back and read the first one in the series to see what I missed! Thanks to Booksirens and Lilith Stone for providing me with this eARC in order to write a review. All opinions are my own.
