My Thoughts:

The Scent of Snow is a beautifully written holiday novella that shows that just because two people fall in love doesn't mean all their problems are solved.

I love that romance books have happily ever afters but I also don't mind coming back to a couple and seeing them figure out what it means to actually build a life together. Reading books about couples who are very different can be so fun but it doesn't make for the easiest relationships. I liked that this story showed us one of those moments and how the characters ultimately handled that issue.

Another thing that I really enjoyed about this story is that Pedro was able to overcome his issues but seeing another person struggle with something similar. It felt plausible and I find that it is often easier to see a situation clearly when someone else is experiencing it than when you are yourself.

This is a fun holiday story and I recommend it for historical romance fans! One thing about this series that is very fun is that it is set in Portugal, which is a setting I haven't read in any other historical romance. While I do think the book would have been improved by having read Anne and Pedro's book first, I understood it and enjoyed it as a standalone.

Thanks to Giovanna Siniscalchi for providing me with an ARC of this story. All opinions are my own.
