Rose Hill Book 1

Star rating: ⭐⭐⭐💫

Blurb

Rosie Belmont has been driving me wild for years. The good kind of wild. The bad kind of wild. But mostly the kind of wild that comes with wanting your best friend’s little sister and knowing you can’t have her.

After living in the city, she comes blasting back into Rose Hill like a storm. Beautiful, messy, and chaotic.

And one wide-eyed desperate plea for a job is all it takes for me to hire her.

Forbes may have labelled me the World’s Hottest Billionaire but all I care about is opening my new recording studio. Something that comes to a screeching halt when I end up face-to-face with a young girl who claims I’m her biological father.

Now I spend my days balancing business with parenting a sullen twelve-year-old all while trying desperately to keep my hands the hell off my best friend’s little sister.

I vow to keep Rosie at arm’s length. I try to stick to scowls and grumpy one-liners. But with her verbal sparring is merely foreplay—friction that turns to blistering heat.

I know damn well I shouldn’t cross that line.

But shouldn’t and can’t are two very different things.

And the only thing I truly can’t do is resist her.

My Thoughts:

I really expected to love this one but I had some mixed feelings. Rosie and Ford are great characters. He has had feelings for her for a long time and it's so fun to read about how much he cares about her. I also loved watching Rosie bonding with Ford's daughter! Ford and Rosie also had excellent banter! I adored all the jokes she made about him being a billionaire.

The thing that was a little tricky for me is maybe a minor spoiler but it happens in the first chapter. Rosie loses her job because her boss makes an inappropriate advance towards her and she threatens to report it. When she comes home she needs a job so she asks Ford to hire her. I really struggled with them working together and being involved right after she had that negative experience with a boss. Particularly because he could be a bit demanding during spicy scenes. While it was very obviously a different situation, I still found it slightly uncomfortable.

I think this is the start of a great series. You get a sneak peek of the next book and I'm really excited for it! However, if the boss employee can be a trope that is hit or miss for you I'd go into this one with caution. I also want to say that if sexual harassment is a trigger for you this one might not be for you.

🌶️🌶️🌶️ - Wild Love has a handful of open-door spicy scenes. Ford can be a little bossy but I wouldn't describe it as BDSM.
